The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between satisfaction in recreational sports and occupational stress and fatigue of elementary school teachers by performing a survey. A total of 630 questionnaires were sent to 630 elementary school teachers scattered in 40 public schools in the newly merged Taichung City, of which 560 were answered and returned, with recovery rate of 88.89 %. 537 out of the 560 returned questionnaires were found to be complete, thus making the effective response rate 85.24 %. The collected data were analyzed by a statistical software package, SPSS 12.0 Chinese Edition, using hierarchical regression analysis. The results from this statistical analysis indicate that recreational sport satisfaction has an influence of intervening variables (partial mediation) on elementary school teacher occupational stress and fatigue. Suggestions based on these findings are hoped to be useful for elementary school teachers, schools, educational administrations, and future research.
