題名:運用擴增實境於不同造形複雜度實體草模製作之使用性分析

草模為工業設計造形學習中的重要工具與溝通媒材,目前設計學生在製作草模時,通常以三視圖為參照資料。然而三視圖在操作上容易有造形資料不全,而必須讓學生憑空想像立體造形的問題。本研究嘗試以擴增實境系統作為輔助草模製作的工具,藉由擴增實境能同時顯示真實與虛擬模型造形的能力,期望能簡化設計學習的草模製作。本研究的主要目的為探討擴增實境系統在協助設計學生製作實體草模的使用性,以及探討造形複雜度對於擴增實境系統使用性的影響。本研究規劃30位具工業設計背景的學生參與以擴增實境系統協助三種不同造形複雜度(簡易、中等、複雜)的實體草模製作的實驗。擴增實境系統的架設採取一般螢幕顯示以及圖卡操作的方式,研究者並預先建置虛擬的立體造形以及相關設定,供參與者製作草模時參照比對。使用性評估方式包含圖卡操作頻率、NASA-TLX以及System Usability Scale(SUS),配合事後訪談,探討參與者對於擴增實境系統的使用性的看法。研究結果顯示擴增實境系統具有提供準確的立體造形資訊、容易操作與參照比對的特性,有助於加速實體草模型態的確認與修正,參與者普遍對於運用擴增實境系統輔助草模的製作持正面看法;另外,造形複雜度對於系統使用性確實有影響;需求程度與工作負荷隨著複雜度提高,進而影響使用性評估的結果,但是主觀滿意度則是系統在協助中等複雜度上獲得最高的分數。
Usually being made with foam, mockup is an important material for the form learning and communication in industrial design. In design learning, the mockup-making needs much effort because the students have to imagine the cubic form from the 2D orthographic views drawings, and the 2D drawings often fail to clearly present the form.This study employs augmented reality (AR) to assist the mockup-making task in design learning in which the AR system allows the images of virtual and physical models in screen at the same time. The objects of this study are to explore the usability of AR system in assisting the student's mockup-making, and the extents to which the complexity of form impacts the usability of AR system. An experiment recruiting 30 design-background students as participants was conducted where each was asked to undertake 3 mockup-making tasks with AR assistance, each with different levels of complexity in form (simple, moderate, and complex). The AR system is built with an ordinary PC with video camera and controlled by marker. The visual model is built and linked to AR system as the participants' reference for the mockup-making. The means of usability evaluation include the frequency of marker adjustment, NASA-TLX, System Usability Scale, and retrospect interview.Results indicate that the AR system could benefit to the mock-up making and rectification in terms of its features in providing the more precise data of cubic form, of easier operation and reference. In general, the positive view is given to the AR system from the participants. In addition, the complexity of form plays importantly to impact the usability evaluation to AR system in which more complex of the form is, more workload is. Also, the form with moderate complexity achieves higher subjective satisfaction then other two kinds of forms.
