In 2013, Central Police University and Taiwan Police College held a "Theory and enforcement of staff’s management" conference. The author chose one of the chapters of Sima Qian’s Shiji which stated that Xiao He was one of the best subordinates of Liu Bang. In author’s opinion, Xiao He was not only the paragon of virtue in the Han Dynasty but also the good example of contemporary executive staff. Xiao He worked hard to help Liu Bang to unify the whole China and he devoted himself to handling complicated issues in order to protect country’s security. All he wanted was defend his country against all enemies. Xiao He always believed Yi jing’s saying that "A gentlemen must embrace everything with virtue and tolerance". His generous personality would help himself went through each crisis in his career life and leaded him to untold success. The eight roles of Xiao He are good adviser, protector for his master, trusted subordinate, competent counselor, wise man, congenial person, a highly respected colleague and the most generous person for his companions. Xiao He is the role model of secretaries, logistics officers, and staff personnel in the police field.
