Targeting the seniors in the Senior University of Minghsin University of Science and Technology in 2017, this study conducted one-semester group exercise course combined with the functional fitness pre-test and post-test. The data obtained was analyzed by the SPSS statistical software by means of independent-sample T test. The results showed that after a period of group exercise course, there was no significant difference in the pre-test and post-test of blood pressure of the elders who experienced functional fitness tests such as 30-second sit to stand test, 2.44-meter up-and-go test and 2-minute knee flexion and leg lift, but the post-test results were better than those of the pre-test, which indicated that the group exercise courses in this study are helpful to the physical fitness of the seniors. It can be seen that appropriate exercise is beneficial to the promotion and maintenance of physical fitness of senior citizens in their daily lives. In this study, there are more group exercise courses with diversified designs in order to provide different physical fitness courses to the seniors. In the future, the study may focus on strength and power training for strengthening the muscle force of the seniors and helping them cope with all the activities and live independently in daily life.
