　　　　　本文約主要目的在於比較父親與母親的管教行為及其影響因素。與過去研究取向 不同的是，本文著重於性別差異對於父母管教行為的影響，不僅將父母管教區分為父親管教 與母親管教，並比較管教男孩與女孩之差異。此外，根據社會權力理論的觀點，依父母權力 來源將父/母親的管教行為區分為酬賞、處罰、監視、提供訊息、興討論等五種，並視之為 一種親子互動的關係屬性，而非父母個人的屬性，強調必須從親（施展權力的一方）子（權 力施展的對象）雙方才能真正了解影響父人母管教行為的因素。 為檢驗以上研究觀點，本文運用多種統計方法， 分析臺北市士林區 1,398 位一至三年 級國中學生之問卷調查資料，結果發現父親其母親的管教行為與傳統的性別分工模式頗為一 致，而子女的反應對於父親或母親的管教行為均具有相當顯著的影響力。因此，建議往後相 關研究宜關注性別問題以及孩子對於管教的反應。
　　　　　Compare with previous research , the current study emphasizes the influence of sex role on parenting behaviors and intends to explore the difference between paternal and maternal control attempts. Parental control attempt, in this study, is differentiated into reward, punishment, monitoring, information-providing, and discussion. The use of each attempt, according to social power theory, is not merely determined by parent's personal characteristics but also by adolescent reaction toward the attempt. The results by examining reports of 1,398 adolescents from junior high schools at shihiin area in Taipei city confirm the impact of both parent's sex role and adolescent reaction on parental controlling behaviors.
