The purpose of this study was to explore the college students' attitudes towards recreations based on genders, school systems, grades, departments, accommodation, clubs participation, frequencies of exercising, recreational partners and expenses on recreation. A self-made questionnaire was employed. There were total of 1,400 copies distributed island-wide, among them 1278 were returned and 1046 were effective. The data was analyzed by using multivariate analysis. The following results were obtained: 1. Among the college students' attitudes towards the recreations, the "cognition" scored the highest, and the followings were "affection" and "behavior." As a whole, the score of attitudes towards recreations were higher than mid-value, showing that the attitudes were positive. 2. Under the different backgrounds, the attitudes towards recreations among genders, school systems, clubs participation, frequencies of exercising and recreational partners, were obviously different. On the other hand, under the variable grades, departments, accommodation and expenses on recreation, there was no significant difference.
