The purpose of this study was understand the fun teaching methods and traditional teaching methods in learning effective and retention effective of basketball lay-up. Recruited 42 sixth-grade elementary school students, random divided to 21 untrained students in fun teaching and traditional group. 2 groups taught twice a week in six weeks. Lay-up skill was test before and after and 2 weeks after rest. The scores of post-test were significantly higher than pre-test, no significantly different between pre-test and the test after 2 week, the scores also no significantly different between two groups. Our study concluded that teaching methods and traditional teaching methods both have significant learning effective and retention effective, but both groups have no significantly different.
