Purpose: To investigate the correlation between the participation motives and its hindering factors in the Elementary Schools badminton team in Taichung City. Methods: Quantitative research questionnaire survey method was used to determine the implementation results of the sampling method. The research subjects were from fourteen elementary schools, consisting of athletes grade five and six in Taichung City in the 106 academic years. A total of 199 questionnaires were distributed, and with invalid questionnaires deducted, the effective questionnaire was 194. The effective questionnaire rate was 97.5%. SPSS24.0 statistical software was used to statistically analyze the data, with the value of α was 0.05 as a significant standard value. Results: The study found that "motor development" in participating motive factors was negatively correlated with the "inner psychology" of the obstructive factor. In participating motive factor, the "sporting pleasure", "environmental impact" and the obstructive factors were negatively correlated with the other factors. Conclusion: It is recommended that coaches should pay attention to the improvement of players' sporting pleasure. With peers encouraging and support to help players achieve their goals, to experience pleasant and successful experiences which should help reduce obstacles.
