The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among physical activity attitude, subjective norm, barriers and self-efficacy on physical activity intention and physical activity for people with physical disability. Participants were 358 parents (male=207, female=151) with an average age of 47.27±11.15 years. The disability level incould mild (n=31), moderate (n=109), severe (n=215) and extremely severe (n=3). Pearson’s correlation and multivariate stepwise regression were used to explore the effects of physical activity attitude, subjective norms, self-efficacy and barriers on the physical activity intention. The Structural Equation Model analysis finds that physical activity intention was full mediated between attitude (positive correlation), subjective norms (positive correlation), barriers (negative correlation) and physical activity. However, physical activity intention was partly mediated between self-efficacy on physical activity.
In conclusion, the physical activity intention and self-efficacy were the main factors of physical activity.
