藍鼎元於清初隨軍來臺敉平朱一貴事件，期間參與帷幄，代擬文書，事平後輯為《東征集》一書，成為了解朱案的重要歷史文獻。《東征集》歷來多注重其文獻的歷史值，本文嘗試另闢一徑，從文學表現的角度切入，分別就篇章意涵與文學美感兩大方向進行初步探索。《東集》共收六十篇作品，內容絕大多數為說理性兼實用性散文，尤其以論辨體(政論)為主。文章偏屬於陽剛的風格，彰顯了征戰的背景氛圍；條理周密的結構，則運用辨證等方法，強化了見解的說服力。總體而言，《東征集》立意正而理脈通，理脈通而氣勢盛，兼具「意」、「理」、「氣」三體，是一部富於美感特質的文學佳構。

Lan Ting-Yuan came to Taiwan with the Ching government’s forces in the Chu I-Kuei event. During the event, he participates in planning and wrote legal papers. After the event, he published a book, called “The collection of east subjugation”, and that is the most important history records about the Chu I-Kuei event. For a long time, people took care of history record values, but now, my paper try to develop a new way in literary appear, includes the work meaning and the esthetic sense. “The collection of east subjugation” has 60 writings; most of the theme are prose both of preaching and useful characteristics, especially, the argumentation prose. Those writings trend to the tough style, the style shows forth the war’s atmosphere; the arrangement of ideas is careful and thorough, that used dialectic and emphasize author’ observation. In conclusion, “The collection of east subjugation” has symmetric logical, than the circulation system is high readable, than the fervor is violent. The works of Lan Ting-Yuan is a ncie literature that full with esthetic sense.
