二十一世紀雖然全球化浪潮帶來一股空間概念解放的迷思，但是民族主義的力量並未消失，許多非西方國家在致力現代化發展的同時，仍然不斷倡導本土化及回歸本位文化的傳統。民族因
素與本土文化的積極闡發，固然有凝聚認同感及強化團結的效果，但是以之做為達成特殊的政治目標，或走向偏執排外，都可能淪為狹隘、極端的民族主義逆流，而成為激化族群政治以及釀造國際衝突的根源。
　　　台灣社會自一九八O年代以來，由於民間社會力量勃興，一方面展現對以往政治掛帥與經濟掛帥的反彈。另一方面則促成了政治民主化與社會多元化的大幅進展。本土化議題也在對抗威權的聲浪中，隨著台灣民族主義運動的推波助瀾，以及社會動員範圍的擴大，造成台灣社會浮現政治認同的極大分歧。又因為社會科學本土化潮流的影響，「台灣研究」的風氣日愈受到重視。但也在學術禁忌解放，以及為了建構以台灣為本位的歷史圖像，並發揮反對所謂外來政權和充實反殖民的歷史論述。一八九五年馬關條約割讓台灣，被視為台灣意識的萌芽以及成為追溯台灣民族主義的根源。而台灣民族主義則是觸動當代台灣族群互信與影響兩岸關係分合緊張的發條。究竟日據時期台灣抗日民族運動是否實踐了台灣自主的某種實質意義，成為本文探討核心。
　　參照有關民族主義及社會運動先驗性的學理見解，本文採取歷史社會學全景式的觀點，歸納中、台兩地民族與文化系統的源流，並融合當時國內外因素，包括：民族自覺理念、社會主義學說、日本的侵略和台灣的社會結構等因素。綜合分析日據時期台灣的抗日民族運動與中國民族主義運動，確實有著密不可分的交疊互動。並列舉台灣抗日歷程不同階段的民族意識與國家認同的核心，從而推論出台灣抗日運動是以漢人民族意識為基礎；台灣抗日運動與中國民族主義相互呼應；左翼勢力並未實踐台灣民族主義運動；日據時期文化運動卻是開啟了台灣本土化源泉的結論。

A Study of the Anti-Japanese Movement and the development of Nationalism during Japanese Rule in Taiwan.
A wave of globalization is stirred up in the twenty first century, which shorten the distance of people from one another, yet the power of nationalism is not extinguished at all. Now many countries of the world evoked natives movement, although it will get together local people's conformity to the nation, it might probably turns to a narrow nationalism and create more conflicts.
Since the 80' era, a social civic power is blooming in Taiwan to achieve political democraey and social multiplicity. Social science is also clinging to develop native study. Research the history of Taiwan is valued therefore. The endowment of Taiwan to Japan in1895 was considered the original of Taiwan consciousness and Taiwan nationalism. Whether the Anti-Japanese movement actually put into practice of Taiwan nationalism? It is the topic of study about this dissertation.
In the view of historical sociology jointed with theories of social movement and nationalism, this article cross-analyzed with the factors of national determination, socialism, Japanese ambitions invasion and Taiwan society structure, and concluded a close relationship between Taiwan Anti-Japanese movement and Chinese nationalisn movement during the Japanese take-over period in Taiwan.

1.Taiwan anti-Japanese movement was base on the Chinese nationalism consciousness.
2.Taiwan anti-Japan movement responded to the Chinese nationalism.
3.The left wing power did not build up the Taiwan nationalism.
4.The culture movement started the development of Taiwan nativism during the Japanese take-over period in Taiwan.
