The foreign spouses were in cultural and educational disadvantages. The numbers of the foreign couples who take the adult education or language courses were limited. Within such circumstance, their children could get inadequate support from their families, particularly their mothers. The Sure start in the UK was proved to be a successful plan to improve the children’s language abilities at cultural deprived area. The experiences in the UK can be applied to the children of the foreign couples in Taiwan. The government can provide educational intervention at the early stage in order to promote the children’s language abilities who are form the international marriage families. We expect the effort in assisting their language development would avoid them form the defection of their families and social environment.
