This study made an empirical cross-validation study of the participation behavioral model for sports tourists. A questionnaire of the participants’ exercise experience, sports programs watching experience, attractiveness of sports tourism, participation motivation of sports tourism, participation satisfaction of sports tourism, participation loyalty of sports tourism was used to collect date. Five hundred and thirty-four subjects participating in the 2004 Penghu Marathon Race of the Chinese Worldwide were the calibration sample, and four hundred and twenty-seven subjects participating in the 2005 New Balance International Penghu Marathon Race were the validation sample. The data were tested by the cross-validation analysis. The result showed that the difference in the minimum fit function chi-square (ΔMFFχ2) between the tight replication strategy model and the loose replication strategy model was 38.41 (df = 46, p>.05), indicating the stability of this model. The findings supported the participation behavioral models for the sports tourists.
