本文以台灣地區製造業為分析對象，探討在不同的地區環境特性中，影響廠商研發投入的因素，並釐清網絡與環境間的互動關係。研究結果發現台灣地區環境依據知識設施、產業聚集、研發經費投入及生產性服務業投入等12項判別指標，可區分為具有不同知識外溢能量的強、弱創新環境，且網絡與創新環境間存在互為作用的關係。位於強創新環境之廠商，研發合作網絡有助其研發投入；而弱創新環境中，生產合作網絡對廠商的研發投入有正面的影響。除網絡因素外，廠商屬性亦是影響研發投入的重要因素，例如「廠商員工擁有專業證照的比例」及「研發部門的設立」兩項廠商特質對廠商研發投入有正面影響。
The aim of this paper is to identify the factors affecting R&D input of manufacturing enterprises in different local environments of Taiwan. This paper also deals with the relationship between networks and local environments. Local environments with strong or weak innovative energy have different abilities of knowledge spin-off and can be clearly distinguished among regions of Taiwan by 12 indicators considering knowledge facilities, industrial cluster, R&D input and producer services. Networks and local environments are interactive. Technology cooperation networks increase firms' R&D input in a strong innovative environment while it is production cooperation networks having the same effect in a weak innovative environment. Besides, firm attributes are other crucial factors affecting its R&D input. The percentage of employees with certificates and the existence of the R&D department, for example, have positive influence on firms' R&D input.
