U-Multirank係歐盟為了打破目前私人機構所做大學排名扭曲高等教育目標的現況,而建構的世界大學排名系統。本文主要針對該排名系統與目前重要世界大學排名系統做概要性的介紹,並比較其方法學之優缺點與限制。最後,本文亦針對該排名系統對臺灣高等教育發展與管理之啟示進行探討。

U-Multirank, which was launched by the European Commi ssion, aims to break the stranglehold of existing private publishers’ rankings which have been widely bl amed for skewing the goals of higher education. This study provided an overview and comparison of the big three rankings and a new global ranking (the U-Multirank ranking) conducted by the EU in terms of their methodolo gy, strengths and limitations. Its implication for Taiwan higher education development and management was discussed.
