This article explores New Zealand Curriculum for primary and secondary education. The author fi rst outlines the national curriculum, then follows the exploration of some unique traits of New Zealand Curriculum, such as the coherence of curricula among Early Childhood Education, primary and secondary education, and tertiary education; autonomous and fl exible school-based curriculum design; curriculum based on pedagogy; and curriculum with focus on literacy and numeracy. The final part is some reflections the author gets from the New Zealand experience.
