國內公共圖書館在規劃視聽服務時，常注重於圖書館的休閒功能，而相對的忽略 了圖書館的教育功能。 本文的重心在於討論公共圖書館在「媒體素養教育」上可以扮演的角色。文中討論媒體素養 的意義、重要性，並對公共圖書館可以採行的策略提出具體的建議。

　　　　　The media (audiovisual) services in our public libraries has focused mainly on the "recreational" role of library, the "educational" aspect of the library, on the other hand, is often been ignored. This paper is concerned with the possible role that public libraries can take in terms of "media literacy education". The meaning and importance of media literacy are presented, and suggestions for possible action are discussed.
