本研究係本院社會科教育學系進修部的學生，為了迎接廿一紀紀劃時代的來臨而分組共同探討的主題。亟思藉展望廿一紀紀即會更好而探討社會科教育的理想方向。 本研究採分組座談和資料分析等方式，進行主題的探討，然後依概說，說明，討論的順序撰述報告。第一組探討的子題是社會科教育本質，第二組探討的子題是社會科教學趨勢，第三組探討的子題是社會科新課程標準，第四組探討的子題是社會科教學方法。 本主題的研究，參與的同學均表示，研討結果深具意義和價值。

　　　　　In order to face the challeuge of the 21st centuty, the students of the Oeparfment of Sociol Studies of the Ia-Seruice Qrogram of Taichung Teachers College hold several seinars and workshops to explore the ideal curriculum and instruction of social sludies for the eleneutary school. This sludy, a product of topic seuinars, workshops and data analysis, includes four major topics: the essence of social studies instruction, the treuds of social studies instrucfion, the new curriculum of social studies and the instrucfion methods of social studies. All the studeuts parliipating in lbese seminare and Workshops found the study meaningful and Ualuable.
