　　　　　本文回顧自六○年代以來對政治文化的研究。在文中首先探討政治文化的定義。學者對於如何定義政治文化至今仍有相當多的歧異，較有共識的部份是政治文化作為一個科學概念應更為明確，並且須考慮社會關係的互動。 如同對政治文化定義的爭議，對於如何測量政治文化亦缺乏共識，其最大的問題在於如何表達出文化的集體特質。 對於政治文化變遷的問題也因政治文化途徑往往引導我們強調「連續性」，以致無法適當地解釋文化變遷本身。 最後，究竟是政治文化影響政治體制的運作和經濟發展，抑或是政治因素及經濟發展影響政治文化，亦是近年來學者經常爭論之議題，然而要證明此種因關係之存在並非易事。
　　　　　This article review the political culture literature since the pioneer work of the Civic Culture. It is evident that the view of political culture used by Almond and Verba is inadequate both as an account of how culture works and of how it might explain political action and there is no return to the old approach. However, there is still lack of agreement on how it should be defined, how can it explain and how do we explain it. Particularly, there are a lot of debates on the causal relationship between political culture and political democracy, also the relationhip between political culture and economic growth. There is still a lot of work needed to be done in this area of research.
