The study intends to investigate the effect of cooperative learning teaching method in Chinese martial art class for vocational high school students through the process of action research. The purposes of the study are as follows: 1. To test the effect of cooperative learning method in teaching Chinese martial art. 2. To examine the current teaching method in Chinese martial art and expect to have condtribution on future research and teaching practice. Methods of participant-observation, interview, document analysis and questionnaire are implemented through the research process. The results are as follows: 1. In comparison with the conventional teaching method and that of cooperative learning, there is no significant difference between the student's grade performance. However, in concerned with student's participation in class, it can still be concluded that the teaching method of cooperative learning has positive effect on their learning performance. 2. The cooperative learning method has positive effect on improving students' learning motivation. 3. The cooperative learning method has effect on improving students' social skills in class. 4. The researcher overcame the problems in teaching, improved his teaching skills and revised his teaching strategies through the research process.
