Due to the significant trend of Chinese globalization, the unlimited characteristics of digital and distance learning courses embody an important solution for instruction, either for teachers or editing teaching materials. However, the implementation of distance learning, cultivation of professional teachers and compilation of teaching materials are all areas undergoing major discussions in field of education and technology for Chinese teaching in the 21st Century. Based on the distance learning collaboration between the Graduate Institute of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages and foreign universities, this study aims to design and analyze a practical and systematized operation, and conduct a performance evaluation. Furthermore, to enhance the skills of high interactive teaching, a modularized design of teaching materials for synchronous teaching was developed by the Graduate Institute in order to ensure the consistence of quality for different teaching materials, as well as the stability of the learning frameworks for various modules so that the process of learners' adaptation can be simplified. The capability of on-line course instructors is the premier condition for achieving synchronous teaching. Teachers must be capable of editing teaching materials by using digital tools. They can master choosing the right moment to integrate the digital teaching materials into teaching methods, and achieve high interactive teaching efficiency. The research therefore aims to gradually analyze and explain the related perspectives in order to achieve the following efficacies: (1) the systemized distance learning courses design mode and process can provide references for teachers in regard to future collaborations, and reduce time-cost resulting from the complicated procedures; (2) the design mode for an effective integration of modularized teaching materials and simplified manufacturing technology with low standard can elevate the professional knowledge of compiling Chinese teaching materials world-wide and help to promote the globalization of e-learning.
