Recent years the food security incidents had continue to occur, such as melamine incident, the events of anti polluted U.S. beef import to Taiwan. Most of people felt the risk of over-reliance on food imports. However, not only on the national food security problems, with the increasing of the national exchange of food cultures, the local food system, lifestyle, and food culture are also impacted by the globalization of food. On personal level, the nutrition and health problem due to improper diet are more and more serious. In order to rebuild the sustainable food system, promote citizen's health and maintain the traditional food culture, the main purpose of this study is to develop the indicators of sustainable food which is feasibility to apply in rural society.
