　　　　　長期以來，在影響教養的諸多因素中，「社經地位」這個變數在單一文化之內 (Intra-culture)的研究中一向備受學者矚目。許多的研究證實，社經地位對於父母教養信 念、教養行為有很大的影響。本文探討有關社經地位與教養研究中潛藏的一些問題，以及分 析社經地位中之一些重要因素(例如職業與教育程度)對教養的影響。主要探討議題包括研究 者如何詮釋社經地位對教養的影響-偏見vs.中立?以及研究者如何界定社經地位:一致性vs. 個別性?筆者呼籲研究者有必要從文化生態的觀點，去開廣對教養多元性的了解，在詮釋與討 論不同社經地位教養的差異時，需要跳脫單一文化觀的狹隘劣勢論點，宜從文化生態的觀點, 針對客觀的事實，謹慎選擇不具主觀價值判斷的字眼去呈現研究發現。
　　　　　Social class as a context has gained much attention in the study of intra-cultural differences in child rearing. Literature demonstrated that social class is influential in shaping parents' values and practices. This study examines some controversial issues embedded in child rearing-SES research: The interpretation of social class influence on parenting, the definition of social class. It is urged that the variation and reality of child rearing needs to be explored from a cultural-ecological perspective. Researchers need to take caution to avoid deficit-oriented position in interpreting the observed difference between social classes.
