成就動機的二元模式、三向度成就目標理論,以及Elliot等學者提出的2x2成就目標理論,一直都是研究者用來瞭解在成就情境中,個體如何定義成功並且產生不同個體經驗和反應的重要理論。然而2x2成就目標理論中的精熟逃避目標(mastery-avoidance goal)同時包含了2種分歧的成就動機,因此,究竟會導致適應/非適應性的行爲仍然有較多不一致的看法。本文首先從精熟逃避目標的個人心理因素及環境因素來進行分析,認爲精熟逃避目標最可能出現在成就情境和個體的動機傾向產生矛盾的情況,因此,在成就情境中,老師或教練必須注意個體的動機傾向和任務困難度等個人和環境因素,而非一昧地強調精熟的重要性;此外,本文也從實證研究進行整理分析,包含精熟逃避目標與焦慮的關係,以及學業情境中、運情境中的實證研究等探討,發現過去研究結果大多認爲精熟逃避目標與負向的、不適應性的動機歷程和結果有關。期望能提供教練或體育課程教師進行指導時之參考。
