The purpose of this study was to explore the effectsof therapy putty training on grip strength, activities of daily living and quality of life in elderswith sarcopenia. The subjects are 60 elders with sarcopenia aged above 65 years old who lived in long-term care institute. They are randomly divided into two groups. One was control group (30 people) who received rehabilitation activities, and another was experimental group (30 people) who received therapy putty training and rehabilitation activities within 12 weeks. A statistical method of two-way mixed design of variance analysis was used to analyze the pre-test and post-test data related togrip strength, activities of daily living and quality of life. The results were as follows: A significant difference was found between control group and experimental group after therapy putty training; the post-test performance was better than pre-test performance; there are significant interaction between assigned groups and test groups. The results of this study concludes that therapy putty training can significantly enhance grip strength, function of daily living and quality of life in elderswith sarcopenia.
