經營一所國際學校比一般的學校更複雜,具備國際學校領導力的本質包括管理與領導、學校的價值與文化、領導者與董事會之間的關係等。國際學校整體發展計畫必須納入國際課程發展與教學、評量政策、持續專業發展,以及建立教師專業學習社群等,學校領導者需採以信任為基礎的溝通,授權與增能,鼓勵教師自由發言並分享教學實務,營造優質的校園文化與氣氛。要有效地經營一所國際學校,可以從建立具有專業職能的夥伴團隊、分享學校使命與價值、尊重文化差異與信任為基礎的溝通、持續專業發展並建立專業學習社群、訂定評量政策確保教與學品質、強化與董事會關係彼此成為信任夥伴等方面著手,齊心協力協助學校邁向成功之路。
Managing an international school is more complex than a normal school, and the essentials of international school leadership includes management and leadership, the value and culture of the school, and the relationship between the Board and the principal. The overall development plan of international school must also be integrated into international curriculum development and teaching, evaluation policy, continuing professional development and establish professional learning community for teachers, school leaders must communicate based on trust, empower teachers to speak freely and share teaching practices, and create a high-quality campus culture and climate. The effective management of international school include building a partner teams with professional competency, sharing school missions and values, respecting cultural differences and trust-based communication, continuing professional development and building professional learning communities, setting evaluation policies to ensure the quality of teaching and learning, and strengthening relationships with the board of governors to become trusted partners and working together to help schools move towards success.
