研究顯示，學習障礙學童佔學齡兒童中相當大的比率，數學學習障礙的問題，並沒有像語文學習障礙者受到家長重視。又因經費及師資的不足，使目前資源、教室無法支援所有學障兒童。在此情況下，運用電腦化的互動式多媒體教材，可提供反覆練習，具個別化學習及個別化差異之教學，且依學生能力調整學習的時間及進度，也引發其學習興趣與動機，促進注意力等優點之替代方案。 本文先簡述學障者之學習困難與目前接受特殊教育之情形，其次介紹多媒體教學之特性與應用於數學學障之情形，最後談及多媒體製作原則應考慮的原則。
