基於社會和科技等因素的共同推動,中國近現代畫報及其所構建的視覺文化發生了現代性轉向。以西學東漸歷史語境下的獨特視覺經驗為思維底色,以來自西方的想像作為觀照自我的合理借鑒,中國畫報在圖像的視覺表達上呈現出"點石齋式""良友式""真相式"等多種形態。通過印刷技術和攝影技術雙重機械複製術的合力推進,中國畫報實現了從圖像認知時代到圖像娛樂時代的視覺變革。西方思維導致的文化斷裂顛覆人們的傳統認知,機械複製術導致的書寫轉向變革了圖像的敘事邏輯和人們的傳播觀念。從《教會新報》的"看圖說書"和《點石齋畫報》的"以圖像為中心",至《真相畫報》的"連環畫"系列漫畫意識和《良友》的影像新聞敘事獨立,中國近現代畫報的敘事話語出現了從"連環畫"到"紀實攝影"的根本性改變,傳播觀念從"故事化"轉向現代獨立性,人們的視覺經驗經由視覺符號進行猛烈的文化交鋒進而影響視覺現代性的運行軌跡。
Modem pictorials of China and the modernity of visual culture constructed by modern Chinese pictorials have been changed by elements of society and technology.With the unique visual experience under the context of the introduction of western culture,with imaginations from the West as a reasonable reference for reflecting on ourselves,the visual expressions of images showed many forms of pictorials such as styles of Tienshihchai,The Companion and The Truth.Through the cooperative advancement of printing technology and photographical techniques,the duplex mechanical duplication realized the visual reform of China’s pictorials from an image cognition era to an image entertainment era.Cultural fractures caused by western thoughts have changed people’s traditional cognition.Written redirection caused by mechanical duplication reformed the narrative logic of images and people’s dissemination idea.From the "picture talk" of The Church News and the "center on images" of Tienshihchai Pictorial,to the cartoon ideology of "serial pictures" of The Truth Pictorial and the image news narrative independence of The Companion Pictorial,narrative discourse of modern Chinese pictorials have changed fundamentally,from "serial pictures" to "documentary film".Their dissemination of ideas has changed from "style of story" to modem independence.Through visual symbols,fierce cultural confrontation of people’s visual experience occurred,thus influenced the track of visual modernity.
