Ethics is the science that studies morality; the ethic of physical education is a branch of the discipline of ethics. It is the norm of conduct followed by all the participants in physical education activities, and the code for harmonizing and conditioning the mutual relationship of people engaged is physical education activities. The promotion of physical education ethic is significant in helping participants in physical education activities regulate their own conduct, assessing physical education activities effectively, reforming the ethos of sports, advancing the civilization of society, and developing international friendship. Essentially speaking, the ethic of physical education can be broken down into two issues: the issue of persons and that of affairs. The issue of persons covers the ethic for teachers, for umpires, for spectators; while the issue of affairs involves deviant behavior, violence, self-identification with one's own country, athletic rights, sports and sexual identity. To facilitate enquiry into the issues, this article expounds hereinbelow the spirit of amateurism, sportsmanship, sports morality, competition and cooperation, sports and sexual identity, as well as deviant behavior, in search of the thread of development of physical education ethic, to establish a system of physical education ethic.
