As a project of The Ministry of the Interior, Taiwan Community Counseling Association has trained seventy-five counseling psychologists to counsel victims and families of sexual abuse or family violence since the year of 2000. These psychologists work with victims in Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention Centers (DVSAPC), schools and social welfare organizations. This paper will present the training model for this program, as well as its accomplishments and difficulties. The training model can advance the professional capabilities of the psychologists and promote collaboration within the team. In addition, this study will explore how psychologists in this project can provide a long-term quality service for the victims although regretfully, some cities and townships have yet to incorporate such resources. Among the obstacles encountered, the cooperation between counseling psychologists and the DVSAPC, and an apathetic attitude from the public towards this issue will be discussed in detail. Finally, this paper will elaborate on efforts of the counseling psychologists reaching out from the campuses to the communities.
