This study was to evaluate the effects of support group on novice nurses through providing mutual support and resources. It was designed by quasi-experimental method. The experimental group was made up of 32 volunteers from new nursing staff. Another 32 volunteers were assigned as control group. In addition to regular training, the experimental group was further divided into groups of 8-10 people, and 4 times were provided biweekly, for 90 minutes per session. Both groups were evaluated by questionnaire before, during and after the group therapy. Satisfaction evaluation was conducted in the experimental group. There is no statistically significant difference in mutual support and resource utility between the two groups, nor is there any difference in the distribution of age or education level in each group. The highest scored item from the satisfaction survey was that "the group therapy can enhance mutual trust between us", with a score of 7.56 (full score: 10). 80% of the new nursing staff considered the support group a helpful to release their inner way tension.
