本研究旨在從照護人員的觀點探討我國長期照顧機構中對失智症照顧設計的環境項目，並以立意方式選取南部某養護機構為對象，針對機構內的四位資深照護人員進行深度訪談，係採用質化分析方式來檢視機構內失智症照護環境現況認知及其對照顧環境的需求。研究結果係依據PEAP 日本版3 評估工具中所提之失智症照護八項構面為研究分析之基礎架構，結果顯示機構內的照顧人員，大體都會考慮到失智長輩的照顧需求，照顧人員對定向感、安全性、隱私性、對感官刺激的調整、自主性、生活持續性、對住民能力的支援、及促進社交互動等的照顧環境條件均有相當程度的認知與了解。但受訪者也表示，失智照顧環境中在安全看視、自主性維護及照顧穩定性等的環境安排仍有些困難有待克服，建議未來能發展出更完善的失智症照護環境規劃與評估機制。

The objective of this paper was to explore the institutional environment situation and needs of dementia care from the care personnel’s perspective. A qualitative study design was used with a convenience sample of a long term care facilities of southern Taiwan, and the data were collected from the four senior care staffs of organization with depth interviews. The research structure was based on the Japanese version3 of PEAP assessment tools that mentioned in the eight environmental dimensions of dementia care. The results showed the care environment had generally consider with the care needs of dementia elders and the environment situations and caregivers have a considerable degree of awareness and understanding regarding the environmental conditions of cognitive orientation, safety, privacy, sensory stimulation adjustment, autonomy, life sustainability, resident’s life support, and social interaction. Respondents also said that the environmental arrangements are still shortcoming in safety monitory, autonomy maintenance, and stability of care staff. We were suggests to develop better environmental planning and assessment system of dementia care in the future.
