歐巴馬政府在亞太地區積極執行軍事戰略「再平衡」部署，乃著眼於傳統地緣戰略觀點，強調控制區域內關鍵樞紐國家，因應中國大陸日益提升的軍力對區域權力平衡造成的嚴重挑戰，以維持美國在亞太地區的領導地位及謀求國家整體利益。臺灣地緣戰略位置面臨美、中共在亞太地區的戰略利益爭奪情勢，且可能成為兩強軍事衝突的關鍵因素，臺灣如何因應美國軍事戰略「再平衡」部署，發揮優勢的地緣戰略價值，將是一項值得深思的課題。

The Obama administration actively carries out the military deployment under the “rebalancing＂policy in the Asia Pacific region from the perspective of traditional geostrategy; it focuses on controlling critical pivot countries in the region in order to respond to the rise of Chinese military strength, which challenges the regional power balance and keeping American leadership in the Asia Pacific region for the U.S. national interests. Taiwan's geostrategic position has put Taiwan in the middle ground of competition of the strategic interests between the U.S. and China in the Asia Pacific region, and it may serve as a triggering factor of the potential military conflicts between the two powers. How Taiwan responds to the U.S. new military deployment in the Asia Pacific region and formulates its dominant geostrategic value could be a worth pondering issue.
