本研究之目的在了解我國國小教師教學生涯發展狀況,並分析五個個人及學校變項與國小教師生涯發展狀況之關係。根據臺灣地區1060名國小教師在「教師生涯發展量表」的反應,發現: (1) 「教師生涯發展量表」可有效區分教師生涯發展狀況,其有效區別之比例為87%; (2) 處於「挫折」狀態者佔樣本之38%,次為「遲滯」及「轉移」,各佔26%,「投入」者約7%,「學習」者最少,僅2%; (3) 教師生涯發展狀況因性別、年齡、任教年資之不同而有不同; (4) 性別、年齡、任教年資、任教地區及學校規模五個變項,可抽取一個有顯著意義之區別函數,唯其分類命中率僅18%,換言之,尚有其它重要變項影響教師的生涯發展,值得進一步研究。
