Sponsoring international sports games is a star enterprise of modem industry, which prospers the city economy, upgrades the infrastructure and promotes the city image, the international popularity and the cultural integration. In order to maintain the overall competitive power and the image of a country, striving to hold world games has become an indispensable issue among countries. The purpose of this research aims at exploring how the Asian Games 2010 held in Guangzhou influence the development of the city. To conduct this research which standing on the studying results and literature of relative scholars, I choose the technique of literature discussion. The results of this study are concluded the influences of sponsoring sports games as below: 一、It advances the infrastructure and promotes the economic benefits. 二、It develops volunteer system and unfolds a new modern image of a city, 三、thighlights the Lingnan culture and embodies the multicultural integration and innovation of Asian. We hope that the experience of sponsoring Asian Games 20 I0 can be passed on to the cities that will sponsor international sports games latter.
