本研究的目的是探討不同科別的大專學生對社會性科技議題的問題解決能力。以北部某醫護管理專科學校五專一年級的學生美容科兩班90人以及護理科兩班100人,合計190人為對象,教學科目為必修的生活科技課程。活動內容以2008年在中國大陸發生的毒奶粉事件為題材。教學期間為兩週,於99學年度第二學期第10~11週實施,以自行開發的問題解決測驗為評量工具。結果顯示護理科和美容科學生的問題解決能力沒有顯著差異。在高低分組的表現方面發現,高分組的同學普遍對學習及活動的評價表現正面的態度;然而低分組的同學則普遍表現負面的態度。在組員結構方面,高分組的組員通常在班上成績都比較前面。在任務分配方面,高分組比較主動思考以及查詢資料;低分組則偏好找答案,較少思考,而且答案比較偏向表面知識。
The purpose of this study was to explore college students' problem solving abilities toward socioscientific issue (SSI). Participants contained 100 nursing and 90 styling and cosmetology department freshmen, whose were from Junior College of Medical Care and Medical located in north Taiwan. This study was conducted in second semester of 2010-2011 academic years and teaching period were two weeks. The course was Life and Technology. Materials focus on incident of poisonous milk powder occurred in 2008 of China and problem solving test developed by author was the main assessment instrument. Results showed that no significant difference was found between these two group students. Regarding high and low achievement groups, high achievement students generally possessed positive attitude towards SSI learning and activities; however, low achievement students possessed negative attitude about them. In terms of group structures, high achievement students were generally within the top ranks of their classes. As to task allocation, high achievement students were preferred active thinking and searching for data, yet low achievement students were preferred searching for answers, insufficient thinking and surface knowledge.
