大學生正處於其生涯發展的關鍵時期，亟待透過各種生涯探索的活動釐清其生涯目標，以利其生涯發展與學校適應。以學校輔導工作實務而言，生涯輔導工作的目的在於『幫助學生完成迫切的生涯選擇，增進學生的生涯適應』，在實務上，輔導工作者一方面因應引導學生的生涯探索，增進其生涯覺察與認知；另一方面也要協助學生釐清生涯目標，促進生涯定向，以利其生涯準備與適應。就我國大學校院學生輔導工作推展的現況而言，亟須建立迫切可用的評量工具，探討並診斷學生生涯確定狀態及其不確定成因；以為規劃輔導方案，引導學生生涯探索，增進生涯確定之依據。職是之故，本研究乃參酌生涯不確定的相關理論及評量工具並實地抽樣訪談學生，收集大學生生涯確定相關反應之初步資料，建構評量指標，透過量表編製程序編製「大學生生涯發展問卷」，涵蓋「生涯確定量表」和「生涯不確定源量表」等兩種量表，分別用以評量大學生的生涯確定狀態和不確定的成因，並以多種途徑建立量表的信度、效度資料；進而以抽樣問卷調查方法收集827位大學生樣本資料，實徵探討我國大學生生涯確定狀態及其不確定成因，比較不同學系類別各年級男女學生之差異。

Career indecision is a problem faced by many under graduates. Efforts to help these persons are hampered by the limited understanding of career indecision and the fact that the problem is so widespread. counselors need instructments to evaluate undergraduates' career indecision. Based these, the purposes of this study were (1) to build up the instructment to measure and diagnosis undergraduates' career indicision, (2) to investigate the career indicision of undergraduates empirically. The Career Development Questionaire was built up to measure career indecision and to diagnosis the reasons of career indecision of undergraduates. There are 827 undergraduates have been invited to participte into this study. All of them took the CDQ and other scales, and their data were analysised for exploring path model. Many significant differences on the various indecision scales were found to be due to major and to grade.
