泰州學派從王艮創立學派宗旨以降，得到王襞、顏鈞、何心隱、羅汝芳、李贄、焦竑、周汝登等人的承傳發揚，一代滕似一代。他們的立身行世，以及講學論道之作風，有共屬一派之認同與隸屬感。要了解一個學派，認識該學派主要人物的社會出身、師承關係、人格類型及行事風格是有必要的。本文歸納泰州學派人物的共同特徵，計有：（一）低微的社會出身、（二）嚴密的師承關係、（三）狂怪的言行舉止、（四）尚義的游俠精神、（五）初發的啟蒙角色、及（六）悲壯的人生命運等六項互有關連的特點，這就是泰州學派的特色。這不是說泰州學派中每個人都具備這樣的特色，而是這些特色或多或少地體現在這八位代表人物的身上；他們八人就像一個家庭的成員，每個人都具有家族的類似性，這就構成泰州學派作為一個學派的特點。

Chou Ju-Tengs'. inherit and bright, next generation are better and better than origin generation. Their behaviors and teaching form, have similar identification and belongings of one school. To understand a school, it is necessary to realize the social background. relationship between teachers and pupils. personality type and behavior style of main character. This article summarize the common features of people of Taichou School, they are: (1) born with low social status (2) tight relationships betweeen teacher and pupil. (3) frivolous language and behavior. 4) spirit of roaming Knight-errant (5) roles of inition, and (6) tragically heoric life fate. These are correlate traits of Taichou school. It doesn't mean everyone belongs to Taichou School all have these characters, but more or less presents on these eight persons. They are like members of a family and have similarities, and this structure Taichou Shool to be a school.
