　　　　　本研究的目的為瞭解社區中風病人主要照顧者需要的項目及探討影響需要之因素。採取立意取樣方式，選定在臺中市二所教學醫院出院後社區腦中風的病人及臺中市八所衛生所收案管理的腦中風個案主要照顧者 100 名為研究對象。 資料的收集以結構式的問卷進行家庭訪視，所得資料經 SAS/PC 電腦軟體進行分析。 綜合研究結果發現主要照顧者需要的優先次序為：〔訊息的提供〕、〔病患的醫療照護〕、〔社會心理的關心〕、〔人力的協助〕、〔經濟支援〕需要。 分析主要照顧者、病人基本資料及其他變項與需要間的關係，結果發現：主要照顧者需要與主要照顧者的年齡、婚姻狀況、教育程度、宗教信仰、職業、與病人的關係、生活費用足夠度、每月自費醫療費用、自覺健康情形、病人的性別、年齡、保險、接受居家護理服務的不同而有所差異。主要照顧者需要和照顧者中風知識得分、整體性社會支持有正相關。 病人的性別、保險狀況、照顧者中風知識認知程度是主要照顧者整體性需要迴歸模式的重要預測變項。本研究並針對護理實務、教育、行政各方面提出建議，作為日後研究者及護理人員之參考。
