The methods and tools of teacher assessment are important influential factors to the effect of teacher certification. National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) that develop the NBPTS certification has rich developmental experiences and efforts about teacher assessment. It can take as reference to reform the teacher certification in Taiwan. the study explores some relative topics about NBPTS certification that include developmental ideas, organizations, processes, and contents and then make some comparisons and comments. Finally, there are some suggestions to the educational administration to reform teachers certification.
