　　　　　近年來，國內的教育改革已在各級學校組織中產生深遠的影響，而教改在國民教育階段的各項改革建議中，尤以「校長為學校首席教師兼任行政首長」的訴求最深具象徵性意義，對現行「行政管控教學」的學校傳統規範的衝擊亦最大。基本上，教改此項主張的最主要目的，在於宣示與倡導學校應該重回到「以教學為主體，行政需支援教學」的體制，俾使教學體制能從學校行政的重重管制中得到「鬆綁」，並從而發揮應有的教學效能。為呼應教改上述主張，本文針對國內外的相關文獻做一有系統的搜集與分析，並針對「校長教學領導」的定義與內涵做一歸納與統整。在本文中共歸納出六項校長的主要教學領導層面，分別為：「發展教學任務與目標」、「確保課程品質」、「確保教學品質」、「促進教師專業成長」、「增進學生學習氣氛」、與「發展支持之工作關係」。此外，針對上述六項校長的主要教學領導層面，本文更進一步的提出六項校長教學領導上的實務建議，即：1. 發展以「教學為主體」的任務與願景並將學校團隊工作與學校的願景做緊密結合；2. 適時適地出現在教學現場來協助教師；3. 了解成人再學習的特徵以激發教職員再學習的動機；4. 校長要扮演教學支持者與教導的角色而不是裁判者；5. 營造一個鼓勵學習的情境以充分發揮教職員的才能與6. 營造一個鼓勵學生學習的情境，以提高學習效能，藉以說明校長「如何成為一位學校的教學領導者」。
