題名:《中等教育的基本原理》在美國課程史上意義之初探

根據H. M. Kliebard早期對課程領域的回顧與檢視,曾將1918年視為課程領域的誕生之年,認為美國中等教育重組委員會於當年頒佈的《中等教育的基本原理》與J. F. Bobbitt所出版的《課程》專書,是奠定課程理論基礎的重要里程碑。而其中《中等教育的基本原理》報告書對於美國中等教育的影響深遠,促成美國中等教育眾多改革措施。本文即初步探討《中等教育的基本原理》在美國課程史上所代表的意義,首先解析《中等教育的基本原理》制訂之歷史脈絡及重要內涵;其次,探討《中等教育的基本原理》對美國教育改革的影響與重要性,以理解美國中等教育課程實踐何以為此的理由;最後,從不同學者殊異的觀點,透析《中等教育的基本原理》的時代意義與評價。期望藉由本文之探究,增進我國對於美國《中等教育的基本原理》報告書及後續影響的瞭解,並累積課程史的研究成果,拓展吾人的課程史觀,提升吾人的課程批判意識與課程研究觀點的敏銳度。
According to the analysis from H. M. Kliebard about the review of the curriculum field, he viewed 1918 as the born year of the curriculum field. He thought that the《Cardinal Principles of Secondary Education》which Commission on the Reorganization of Secondary Education in the America published and《The Curriculum》which J. F. Bobbitt wrote were established the foundation of curriculum theory. Especially, the《Cardinal Principles of Secondary Education》deeply affects the secondary education in America. The main purpose of this article was to analyze the meaning of 《Cardinal Principles of Secondary Education》 in American Curriculum History. First, the report’s historical background and important contents were analyzed. Second, the report’s influence and importance were further explored. Finally, Scholar's different views about the report’s era meaning and appraisal were probed into.
