This article is about two novice elementary science teachers who made a close observation of a retired but still active elementary teacher in the same professional field and found out the spirit that pushed him continuously to dedicate his greatest effort on the elementary science education. Narrative inquiry was used to reveal the most important stories and information of others in his teaching career. Further interviews with people involved and reviews on the written information by the subject were also conducted to verify those facts. The study results showed that the motivation of the subject on science education was inspired by an experienced teacher and therefore he decided to develop his professional field and transfer his experience to the next generation. The two novice teachers not only observed the subject’s teaching experience and spirit in his whole life, they also immersed themselves in a positive atmosphere they never felt before by participating in the professional development group. For teachers, there is no ending for teaching professional growing. They can grow continuously by participating in a professional development group with the same goal, such group can support teachers strongly in pursuing the professional competence and moving forward with the enthusiasm of teaching that never be diminished.
