This research aims at reviewing the oral expression of Taiwan youths recently via various approaches, targeting on a specific generation and time. Youth daily oral expresses in TV talk shows and local TV idol soaps are main research sources for analyzing how language is used. The analysis is focused on "negative" examination with 639 corpora, wherein faults found can be classified into three levels: 1. with marked mistake to be revised, including misuse of terms and incorrect sentence structure etc.; 2. maybe acceptable by the public but exactly not appropriate, like equivocal terms, wordiness, inappropriate abbreviation, rudeness, Taiwanese way of Chinese expression; 3. prevailing novel expressions of new terms or old terms, still hung in developing, not yet to be defined. Conclusions included are: possible causes of various mentioned faults, defects of vocal expression for youths in modern days, effects of sex differences in term usage, and ten popular words and terms in BBS.
