This study aimed to explore the influence of parental involvement on elementary school tennis players’ exercise intention. The study subjects were composed of 203 elementary school tennis players (male: 128, female: 75) aged between 11 and 13, with the questionnaire method adopted. The elicited data regarding demographic characteristics was analyzed through the χ2 test, One Way ANOVA and discriminant analysis. The results showed that 47.8% of the elementary school tennis players would continue playing tennis, 18.7% would not, and 33.5% are uncertain. In the demographic characteristics, “satisfaction with sport skill” and “players’ grade level” were significantly correlated with exercise intention. In addition, the five parental involvement elements, including: “supporting their children’s efforts in the sport,” “encouragement to continue the sport,” “encouragement to attend more competitions,” “allow practicing the sport during free time” and “buying sports-related products” constituted five variables to determine whether the players would continue playing tennis or not.
