本研究旨在從年齡、年級、宗教信仰、家長職業、性別等層面分析少年輔育院院生的理性行為，並與一般中學生的理性行為作一比較。研究對象為田中少年輔育院院生146名及明道中學、彰化高商、彰安國中學生360名。研究工具包括「理性行為量表」及「馬洛─柯儂社會期許量表」。所得資料以單因子及雙因子共變數分析進行統計處理。所得結果如下：(1) 少年輔育院院生的理性行為未因年齡、年級不同，而有顯著差異。(2) 宗教信仰的有無與少年輔育院院生的理性行為無關。(3) 不同家長職業水準的少年輔育院院生，其理性行為有顯著差異，家長職業水準愈低者其理性程度愈高。(4) 少年輔育院院生與一般中學生的理性行為部分呈顯著差異，少年輔育院院生的理性行為略低。無論就少年輔育院院生言，或就一般中學生言，男生的理性程度大部分高於女生。
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between rational behavior and age, grade, religion, father's occupation on deliquents and non-delinquents. Subjects were 146 juvenile delinquents from reformatory school and 360 non-delinquents of junior high, senior high and vocational high schools. The instruments used in this study included the Rational Behavior Inventory and the Marlowe-Crowne Social Desirability Inventory. The results reveal that (1) There was no significant relationship between age, grade, religion, and rational behavior. (2) There was partly significant difference between father's occupation and rational behavior, except on factor one. (3) There was partly significant difference between males and females, except on factor one. (4) There was partly significant difference between delinquents and non-delinquents, except on factor two, three, and four.
