Psychologist had focused on the human’s suffering experience over a long period of time. However, the advent of positive psychology had shifted researchers’ interest to exploring how human pursues peaceful life and knows thyself. In this thesis, the author investigated the relationship between gratitude and adolescent athletes’ well-being according to the philosophy of positive psychology. Furthermore, it was proposed that the perceived cohesion could be a possible mediator (study 1), while emotional awareness would moderate the relationship between gratitude and well-being (study 2). Study 1 indicated that the cohesion partially mediated the relationship between gratitude and well-being. Besides, study 2 found the effect of gratitude on well-being varied with emotional awareness. The relationship between gratitude and athlete’s well-being were stronger under high emotional awareness compare to the low emotional awareness condition. Results were discussed in term of broaden-and-built theory of positive emotional theory. Practice implications and applications were also offered
