本研究主要是探討社會工作系學生在學時對於社會工作專業之認同以及影響其選擇社會工作專業生涯之相關因素,本研究以臺灣4所國私立一般大學與科技大學社會工作系423名學生為研究對象,研究結果發現,社會工作系在學生有75%會選擇未來從事社會工作生涯,而畢業於一般高中與技職學校學生在社會工作專業中之認知、學習態度、對未來社會工作生涯領域的期許有明顯的差異。整體而言,學生期待未來能服務的領域大部分為兒童領域、醫療單位、青少年領域、學校單位及縣市政府,次為婦女、老人及矯治司法領域。女男性就讀社工系之普遍比例為9比1;另外,女性選擇從事社工生涯的狀況明顯高於男性,其比例為13比1。對社工專業的認同部分,社會工作系在學生家人對其就讀社會工作系的態度、本身對課程學習的滿意度、整體學習狀況的滿意度以及本身對社會工作專業生涯的清楚認識能明確地影響學生對社會工作專業的認同。同時,學生之所以選擇社會工作專業生涯有兩種可能之路徑模式,其一為學生先具有對社工專業的認同之後,並且對此專業生涯有具體的認識及瞭解:如其工作性質、酬勞、工作環境等因素,而決定選擇從事社會工作生涯。另一模式為就社工系學生未來的生涯發展取向來看,若其目前在學期間便決定未來考社工師執照,並且在未來的規劃中亦可能接受在職進修教育甚或修讀社工專業學位者,最可能預測其選擇社工專業為其生涯。
This is a study aims at understanding social work undergraduates' commitment and career choice toward social work profession and some relating factors of such career decision were identified. The results of this study found that almost 75% of the social work undergraduates commit themselves to choose social work as their future career. Among these students, there are two different educational background students revealed obvious differences in their learning satisfaction, understanding and commitment toward social work profession. Students came from vocational background demonstrated more interests in social work. In the future working areas, students are most interested working in the service areas of children, youth, medical institutes, secondary interests are those areas in the services of women, the aged and criminal justice. The effective factors influencing students' commitment toward social work are as follows: the support from one's family; satisfaction of one's learnings and clear understanding of the reality of career itself in social work. The vital findings in this study is the identification of the possible paths referring to students' career commitment toward social work. One possible path is that the student at first has the commitment in social work, following the clear understanding of realistic circumstances in the career and then comes the final decision in choosing the career. The other possible path is from the perspective of career planning, the more insistence the student has in obtaining social work practice licence and pursuing further studies or degree in social work, the more likely one will choose social work as his or her future career.
