In 2001, the government proclaimed the Law of Voluntary and the Volunteer Code of Ethics. There are 12 articles in this code. In these 12 articles of the volunteer ethics code, it tells volunteer how and what to do, and what should to do and what should not to do. The purpose of this paper is to find out what is the essence of these codes. Zen and Yih are the essences of the code. There are come from Confucian. Zen means love, devotion, loyalty, enthusiastic, patience and not biased. Yih come from Zen, also is the philosophy of Confucius, it means righteous; it means doing right things. It is Zen and Yih to be the standard and direction of volunteer’s behavior.
