近年在臺灣本地，同志相關議題備受重視，從各種積極的社會參與形式中不難發現同志團體透過各種公開活動為性別弱勢族群發聲與爭取權利，而休閒與運動場合更是常被性別團體視為理性現身或社會出櫃的專有場域。基於現代社會中仍存在性別弱勢的狀況，社會的改變促使弱勢團體紛紛現身，本文論述的目的乃是試圖從同志歷史的發展脈絡出發，透過理論發展脈絡的向度，分析並瞭解全世界最大的同志體育與文化活動盛會的發展過程及該活動使命與目標，瞭解並揭露曾經在歷史上備受壓抑的性別弱勢團體，在新世紀如何使用運動重新定位社會角色，並現身天下。
In Taiwan, LGBTQ organizations have increased exposure and pushed for equality for gender minorities through many public engagements. In particular, sports have been viewed as a socially-appropriate setting to “come out” by gender organizations. This study analyzes the rise of both Gay Games and cultural movements from a queer theory and historical perspective. Specifically, we discuss how LGBTQ groups utilize sports to redefine their social image in modern days.
